HOUGHTON NAMES OLNEYSUCCESSOR

Houghton Mifflin Co. this week announced a changing of the
guard at the top of its trade division, the part of the company
that publishes novels and nonfiction books sold through bookstores.
Austin G. Olney, a 41-year institution in Boston publishing,
will leave his post as senior vice president of the trade and
reference division Jan. 1. He will keep the title of senior vice
president until he retires in April.
