Digital Equipment Corp.'s big DECWorld computer show set sail yesterday, drawing thousands of corporate customers to Boston's waterfront World Trade Center.

Digital president Kenneth H. Olsen launched the event with the company's strong suit, hooking up a vast network of more than 350 computers stitched together for the show. Digital's network products have fueled its rapid growth in recent years.
