ALLSTON CITY SAYS IT WANTS NEW DEVELOPER PROGRESS JUDGED SLOW ON FORMER SCHOOL SITE

Three years after the city tentatively named a community-based nonprofit group to develop a city-owned parcel in Allston, the Flynn administration is prepared to remove the group from the project and solicit new bids for the site.

Citing a lack of progress on the proposal, Public Facilities Department Commissioner Lisa Chapnick said yesterday her staff has recommended that the Allston-Brighton Community Development Corporation be "de-designated" as the developer of the former Washington School on Cambridge Street in Allston.
