LINH IS A VICTOR IN VIETNAM VOTE

BANGKOK, Thailand - Vietnam yesterday announced that Nguyen
Van Linh, the Communist Party general secretary, and other top
party officials were elected to the National Assembly in Sunday's
election.
That may mean they will receive top government posts when the
assembly convenes in June, because such posts usually go to senior
party leaders.
