CHOREOGRAPHER ANTONY TUDOR, 79

NEW YORK - Antony Tudor, choreographer emeritus of the
American Ballet Theater, died Sunday night of a heart attack at the
First Zen Institute of America, where he served as president for
more than 30 years. He was 79.
Mr. Tudor, an ABT choreographer for more than 40 years until
his retirement in 1980, was "the conscience" of the company,
according to its artistic director, Mikhail Baryshnikov.
