Two New England companies, Nortek Inc. and High Voltage
Engineering Corp., have been involved in opposite ends of what
appear to be greenmail transactions.
Nortek Inc., a Providence maker of building, aerospace and
electrical products, has been paid $16 million, or $42 a share, by
Rexham Corp., a Charlotte, N.C. maker of packaging materials. The
stock had originally been purchased by Nortek for around $33 a
share.
Meanwhile, High Voltage Engineering Corp. of Burlington, a
research equipment and electrical components manufacturer, has paid
$6.6 million to ...
