During the leader's lifetime, the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra was a
leading exponent of both the sweet and sentimental and the
hard-swinging. The organization was also responsible for
introducing superb instrumentalists and vocalists to the listening
public. In addition to peerless trombone solos by Dorsey himself,
his band rostered such outstanding soloists as Bunny Berrigan,
Ziggy Elman, Buddy Rich, Buddy DeFranco and Buddy Morrow, among
others, and it featured such singers as Jack Leonard, Dick...
