American Motors is on the comeback trail -- again. Or, more
accurately, still. For AMC, it may be a comeback rut.
AMC has announced more comebacks than Harold Stassen ever
announced presidential campaigns. AMC has been fairly bogged down
on the comeback trail, and its 4-wheel-drive expertise has not been
enough to pull it along. Neither has the "partnership" with
Renault, the Eagle, Renault 18i, Renault Fuego, the Alliance,
Encore, Comanche pickup or Wrangler Jeep.
