Katharine E. Driscoll of the Chestnut Hill section of Brookline, a noted Greater Boston community leader, died in her home Friday after a brief illness. She was 92.

She served on many boards and committees dedicated to the advancement of social welfare and human rights throughout Greater Boston, the state and the country. A mother of seven, she especially was interested in parental and child-care agencies.

Mrs. Driscoll was a longtime director and the first woman vice president of United Community Services, now United Community Planning of United Way of Massachusetts Bay. She helped ...
