THE CRESCENT MOON ECLIPSES STARS OF THE PLEIADES TONIGHT
|
At twilight this evening, if the sky is clear, the crescent moon
will be shining in the western sky. And it will be doing something
very special.
Look carefully. If you have sharp vision, you'll see that the moon
lies amid a tight bunch of dim stars. This is the Pleiades cluster,
also known as the Seven Sisters. As seen from here in the eastern
states, the moon will appear to slide across the Pleiades this
evening, eclipsing several of its stars one by one right before your
eyes.
