LIBRARY TO OPEN MARCH 17

Retired library director Vivian McIver will check out the first
book when the revamped Needham Free Public Library opens March 17.
McIver had the honor of checking out the last book when the library
closed in 2004. Builders are installing the finishing touches,
including a cherry wood circulation desk with a blue stone top, said
Greg Shesko, chairman of the library's board of trustees. He expects
that computers and audiovisual equipment will be delivered by the end
of the month. The temporary library at the High Rock School will
close Feb. 26 so that library staff can move 140,000 ...
