Anna Smulowitz presents "The Women at the Tomb," a play about a
chance meeting of 11 women on the night of Jesus's crucifixion,
beginning Friday at the Actor's Studio in Newburyport.
The author, Michel de Ghelderode, attempts to bring the historic
moment into contemporary context. The play was written in response to
political and social upheaval in Europe in the 1920s and focuses on
issues of faith, belief, and politics.
