Virginia (Cronin) Parsons deferred a college education until after
her children were school-age, but then compensated for her late
blooming by teaching English at Northeastern University, cooking in a
five-star kitchen, traveling the world, and sewing and selling
Victorian draperies of her own design.
Mrs. Parsons, 62, died of renal failure Friday in her East
Weymouth home. She had been battling diabetes since she was 23 and
Alzheimer's disease for the last five years.
