The Sacco and Vanzetti case, which played on an international stage for nearly a decade, had its roots in the South of Boston area. But 75 years after the two men were executed, one of the most famous trials of the 20th century is barely acknowledged locally.

The robbery and murders for which the two Italian immigrants were tried took place in Braintree. Their trial took place in Dedham and the defendants were arrested on a streetcar going from Bridgewater to Brockton.
