STOW GETS READY FOR PATRIOTS DAY TOWN RELISHES REVOLUTIONARY ROLE IN HISTORY

STOW - Several years ago, a gun collector in Pennsylvania
contacted Stow Minuteman Ralph Bernklow about a musket he had come
upon that he claimed was originally used by Capt. William Whitcomb,
who captained the Stow Company during the Revolutionary War.
The two men met and researched the war and the gun together at the
Randall Public Library.
Indeed, "It was his gun," said Bernklow. They learned that the
weapon was made around 1760 in France, but its wood had been replaced
with local stock, probably apple or another fruit wood. A standard
