At Biosphere 2, Earth's woes could run at `fast forward'
|
For the next two years, the eight people who entered the
completely sealed environment of Biosphere 2 last week will be
confronting an intensified version of the problems of pollution,
waste management and limited resources that face the planet as a
whole.
In Biosphere 2, the timescale for potential disaster is greatly
speeded up, and one of the main lessons of the grand and
controversial experiment will be how well the Biospherians fare in
keeping their miniature world habitable.
