Dale Earnhardt figured it this way. If he had qualified for the Busch Clash the past two years, maybe Kenny Schrader wouldn't have made runaways of those races. Maybe he, not Schrader, would have been parked his car in Victory Lane.
"Yeah," Earnhardt said. "Schrader has won the last two, but he didn't have to contend with me. Now let's see what happens."
Earnhardt, the defending Winston Cup champion, will be among a field of 14 NASCAR drivers competing in today's 20-lap, 50-mile race that kicks off Speedweeks at the 2.5-mile Daytona International Speedway.
