Energy Transfer Partners to acquire Canyon Gas system

Energy Transfer Partners LP, the Dallas-based owner of natural gas pipelines in Texas and Louisiana, has agreed to buy Canyon Gas Resources LLC from Metalmark Capital for an undisclosed price.

The Canyon Gas system includes six processing plants and 1,800 miles of lines from wells in the Piceance and Uinta basins in Colorado and Utah, Energy Transfer said Friday in a statement. Metalmark is a New York-based private equity firm.

The purchase extends the partnership's connections in Rocky Mountain basins where natural gas output is rising. Energy Transfer Partners in November bought Transwestern ...
