Joseph Charles Drew Retired A ...

Joseph Charles Drew, a retired Air Force lieutenant colonel who
later became a Metrobus driver, died Aug. 10 of multiple myeloma at
Anne Arundel Medical Center in Annapolis at age 72. He lived in
Mitchellville.
As a career officer, Col. Drew amassed more than 5,000 flying
hours, of which 2,500 were combat hours. He piloted B-47 bombers, B-
52 bombers and C-130 cargo carriers during his eight-year
involvement in the Vietnam War. He retired in 1979.
His commendations include the Distinguished Flying Cross, the
Meritorious Service Medal and 17 Air Medals.
