It's always intriguing when you find books having a conversation
that the authors may never have intended. I came across one the
other day while I was reading David Mamet's Bambi vs Godzilla, a
collection of essays on the movie business that includes a knowingly
provocative piece about the role of Jewish producers and directors
in Hollywood. As I read it I had a faint feeling of deja vu - or
rather, a feeling that this was the continuation of something
started by somebody else.
