What to do: When Midwest Living magazine recently picked its "100 Best Small Town Getaways," Ephraim and neighboring Fish Creek were ranked No. 1 -- best of the best. I recently stayed in Ephraim and dined in Fish Creek, so who am I to argue?

Ephraim has long been one of my favorites. More than any other Door County community, it has preserved its historic look and character, a blend of Moravian culture and Norwegian heritage.
