Wayward homing pigeon walks into East Bay bar

PLEASANTON -- So, this pigeon walked into a bar ... no, really, this pigeon walked into a bar.

Patrons at the Y'all Come Back Saloon in Pleasanton were sitting back, enjoying a few cold ones on Memorial Day when a tired-looking homing pigeon sort of bobbed into this neighborhood bar.

"That darn bird walked right around me like it owned the place," said Pleasanton resident Bruce Manucci. "It walked up to the bar. If it had ordered a martini I would have fainted."

Instead, Manucci and his friend Carol Batten chased the bird down and, using his leg band as a guide, traced him to a racing ...
