Today, Kansans celebrating what no one else will have

Today is Kansas Day here in Kansas. You might ask, where else but
in Kansas would it be Kansas Day, but you would be surprised by the
answer. Kansas once was part of Missouri, so now that part of
Missouri that wasn't Kansas, which is most of it, celebrates Kansas
Day every year, and what they're celebrating is getting rid of what
they didn't want.
In some parts of Missouri it's called Cleansing Day for obvious
reasons, but Missourians have lost a lot of their enthusiasm for
making sport of Kansas since Roy Williams and Bill Snyder were
imported to settle our neighborly arguments.
