LAWRENCE --- Mitch Running's football career took him to a lot of places the Iowa native never expected to go.

A free-agent signee out of Kansas State, the Wildcat receiver traveled to Houston, Carolina and Indianapolis as a practice-squad player before spending two years in the CFL with Winnipeg and Toronto.
