Topekans celebrate Charles Curtis' birthday

The Capital-Journal
A birthday party was held Saturday to honor the history and
heritage of the only native Topekan and American Indian to become
vice president of the United States.
More than 180 visitors toured the historic house at 1101 S.W.
Topeka, where Charles Curtis resided from 1907 to 1937.
Visitors viewed a large collection of historical memorabilia and
artifacts amassed by the owners and restorers of the house, Don and
Nova Cottrell.
"This is just wonderful, learning about the history," said visitor
Sarah Saltzman, of Topeka.
