When movies started talking in 1927, most conversation about
silent films ceased.
However, silent films are now the talk of the town in Los Angeles;
Atlanta; Syracuse, N.Y.; and Jersey City, N.J.; where movie "palaces"
have been restored and silent films are routinely showing with organ
or orchestra accompaniment. Movie buffs also have flocked in recent
