Born November 8, 1916 in Midvale, Utah to Wallace Edgar and Virginia Sophia Petersen Hakanson. Married Mary Garrett in February 26, 1938, later solemnized in the Jordan River Temple. Retired in 1981 from Kennecott after 47 years. He looked forward to his Wednesday dinners with his Kennecott friends. He enjoyed hiking, singing, playing the piano and gardening.
