Nu Skin losses not unexpected

Nu Skin Enterprises Inc. reported Wednesday that its first quarter 2006 losses were in line with its previous guidance and that organizational changes outlined in its business transformation plan are under way.

The Provo-based direct-sales company reported first quarter revenue of $265.8 million, compared to $289.4 million in the same quarter last year. In a statement released Wednesday, the company said the losses reflect $36 million in restructuring and impairment charges, market "softness" in Japan and China, and currency fluctuations.

The company's net loss was $12.8 million, or 18 cents ...
