Today's Installment: Bob Doles It Out
|
Now we know what former senator Robert J. Dole has been doing
since the end of his failed presidential campaign. He has been
starting up the Bank of Bob. The bank's motto: "Don't go broke. Go
on the Dole."
The existence of the Bank of Bob was revealed yesterday by
House Speaker Newt Gingrich, who owes $300,000 for an ethics
violation he denies he committed but which, as a gesture of good
faith, he will pay for with his own money, because although it
really hurts to shell out 300K from one's own pocket, it hurts less
when the money is actually Bob Dole's.
