Reynold Cluff Merrill Jr. passed away February 25, 2004 at the
University of Utah Hospital.
Born May 5, 1920 in Richmond, Utah to Reynold Cluff and Ann Little
Merrill. RC was blessed with intelligence and a love of science. He
entered college at the age of 16, earned a BA from Utah State
University in 1940 and a Ph.D. in colloidal chemistry from Stanford
University in 1943, when he was only 23 years old. RC supported the
