Gar-Field Upsets No. 1 Elizabeth Seton

Firsts don't come easily to a program that has won more than
200 games and eight district titles in the past 10 years. Yet for
all the Gar-Field girls basketball team's success and all the
banners it had hung on the wall, the Indians had never before done
what they did last night.
With a 50-43 win over Elizabeth Seton, No. 4 Gar-Field beat a
team ranked No. 1 in the Washington area for the first time in
school history.
What's more, by Coach Fred Milbert's estimation, this was the
first time Gar-Field had beaten a team it was not expected to beat
since 1989.
