Yosemite guidebook author dies at 57
|
Whether they buy a guide book, pick up a map or enter a museum,
tens of thousands of visitors to Yosemite National Park each year
have a richer, more meaningful experience thanks to Steve Medley.
Since 1985, Medley, a Palo Alto native who grew up in Gilroy,
served as president of the Yosemite Association, a non-profit group
dedicated to educating the public about the park's plants, wildlife
and human history.
Medley died Thursday morning while driving to work on Highway 140
from his home in Oakhurst. His car crashed into a tree. He was 57.
