'MACK & MABEL" is one of the best flops of all time.
There was every reason to believe the musical would be the next
big thing when it opened in 1974. The team behind the mega-hit
"Hello, Dolly!" -- composer Jerry Herman, writer Michael Stewart,
director Gower Champion and producer David Merrick -- had reunited
and lightning was sure to strike twice.
