Robbery nets $217k in diamond rings

HALF MOON BAY -- A well-dressed man escaped with more than
$200,000 worth of diamond rings in a bizarre robbery at a downtown
jewelry store Friday morning, authorities said.
Employees thought something was strange about the man dressed in a
white shirt, blue polka dot tie, black pants and white tennis shoes
when he came into Main Street Goldwork just before 11 a.m., said Half
Moon Bay Police Sgt. John Sanchez.
"They knew something was wrong when he walked in," Sanchez said.
