James Logan bashes Berkeley in opener

UNION CITY -- Last week, when the James Logan High girls
volleyball team suffered a loss to Mission San Jose in the Mission
Valley Athletic League playoffs, it was en eye-opener.
Fortunately, Logan had another match by virtue of being the No.1
seed and had the luxury of double elimination.
"That loss made us hungry, and we had to prove that we're still
the champs," Logan's Brittany Spagle said.
The Colts, who have won every league crown since 1998, did rebound
to post a win over Mission in three games in the MVAL championship,
earning the league's automatic North Coast Section berth.
