Kochi true to Ramadan in win

FREMONT -- Mohammed Kochi wasn't feeling well, but that didn't stop him from leading the American High football team to a victory on Saturday.

The junior quarterback threw two touchdowns and ran for one to help lead the Eagles to a 20-6 Mission Valley Athletic League win over John F. Kennedy at Tak Fudenna stadium.

Kochi, who was 12-for-27 for 137 yards, was struggling to get through the game. Saturday was the first day of Ramadan, and as a Muslim, Kochi cannot eat or drink anything from sunset to sunrise.

"I ate right before the game, I feel like throwing up," Kochi said after the game. ...
