Shetland ponies parade in Castro Valley

CASTRO VALLEY -- The hits of next Saturday's Rowell Ranch Rodeo
Parade could be pure-bred Shetland ponies Ace and Anasazi, who
stopped traffic last year.
The shining black, 8-year-old half-brothers from Britain were
mobbed by children as they traveled the half-mile parade route in
2004, recalled Julia Sullivan of Castro Valley.
Sullivan and Fairview residents Carole and Bob Piddock care for
and train the ponies and take them to community events and to meet
children with mental, physical and emotional disabilities.
They are members of Personal Ponies, a national nonprofit
