from "The Ballad of Casey Jones," and today is the anniversary of the
death of the railroad engineer and folk legend celebrated in song by
a wide range of entertainers. On the morning of April 30, 1900, John
Luther Jones -- who got his nickname "Casey" from Cayce, Ky., the
