Chase at Oakland airport yields meth Two East Bay men charged with transporting and possession of drug for sale

OAKLAND -- A belt buckle, a bulging waistline and a botched bolt for freedom added up to a methamphetamine bust at Oakland International Airport, authorities said Wednesday.

As a result, two men were charged Wednesday with possession of methamphetamine for sale and transporting the drug, police said.

Kevin Smith, 37, of Pittsburg pleaded innocent to the charges Monday in Alameda County Superior Court. The other suspect, Jebba Catley, 35, of Oakland will return to court Dec. 22 ...
