Fox says Mexico, U.S. ties strong 'We are keeping this bilateral relationship

MEXICO CITY -- President Vicente Fox said Tuesday that Mexico's relations with Washington continue to be "intense" and "productive" despite Mexico's strong opposition to President Bush's decision to wage war against Iraq.

"It's a fact that Mexico thought it could be solved in a different way," Fox told foreign journalists. "But things happened the way they happened, and today we are looking at the future, we are keeping this bilateral relationship very intense."

Fox's comments were among his first public statements since the Iraq war began, and since he had major back surgery last month that ...
