SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO -- Henry Escobar pinches his collar, talks
about his kids and then sweeps his arm across his restaurant,
cheerfully illustrating the life he has built on a sweet, crispy
dough stick known as the churro.
"The churro has created this restaurant," Escobar said, waving his
flour-covered hands for emphasis. "The churro has bought my shirt and
allowed me to raise my kids."
