City panel tosses life preserver to Coast Guard site
Plan for station pushed, but county not convinced

Like rescuers struggling to save a drowning swimmer,
preservationists made one more attempt Monday to spare an abandoned
Coast Guard station from the wrecking ball. Whether they'll succeed
is anybody's guess.
