Airlines told to check jets' tail assemblies

Washington -- Federal regulators on Friday ordered U.S. airlines
to inspect the tail elevator assemblies on Boeing 767 airliners for
damaged controls.
Egyptian officials have pointed to possible tail control problems
in the still-unsolved crash of EgyptAir Flight 990, a Boeing 767,
last Oct. 31. All 217 aboard were killed.
