A letter to the editor from the president of AFSCME addressing his concerns about the child welfare system unfortunately failed to acknowledge many of the reforms that have occurred ("Child welfare system leaves too many children at risk," Feb. 29). More important, the hard work of hundreds of dedicated workers and thousands of committed foster parents goes unheralded.
