Ten years ago, the Kansas State football program had crashed,
burned and was resting in pieces. Stan Parrish quit as the team's
coach four games into the 1988 season, unable to endure what
eventually became an 0-11 finish, a school-record 30-game winless
streak and a 1-36-1 stretch at the close of the 1980s.
But that was only one manifestation of the first major-college
football program to reach 500 losses. In Kansas State's first 95
seasons, a paltry 26 ended with winning record...
