Theft from son's grave site pains parents Statue of cherub taken from burial place of boy who drowned in 1998
|
The theft of a cherub statue that sat over Damien Cauley's grave
has caused more grief for the parents of the boy who died during the
1998 summer flood in Elm Grove.
For Gail and Daniel Cauley, the crime isn't the loss of the $39
they paid for the cherub. Rather, it's the thought that their son's
resting place was disturbed, the familiar winged cherub with hands in
lap and legs crossed now missing from their weekly visits to Damien's
grave at St. Mary's Cemetery in Elm Grove.
