Ongoing financial bleeding in the county Transit Plus program, which serves residents with disabilities, has helped persuade supervisors to put the system under new management.

Under a resolution endorsed Wednesday by the County Board's transportation committee, Milwaukee Transit Services Inc., which has operated the regular county bus system since 1975, will begin managing the Transit Plus program no later than April 1.
