Froedtert Memorial Lutheran Hospital and the Covenant Healthcare system are expected to announce today that they will be joining forces, a move that would strengthen their competitive positions in southeastern Wisconsin's rapidly consolidating health care market.

William Petasnick, Froedtert's president and chief executive officer, is expected to be named CEO of a new management group that will manage Froedtert and Covenant's four hospitals.
