May I be the first to wish you a happy first day of spring, at
least astronomically speaking. Today, at precisely 7:46 p.m., the
vernal equinox occurs. At that time, the direct rays of the sun
pass over the equator on their journey into the Northern Hemisphere.
In my 13 years as a meteorologist, I've found that some people
