A pitch for Sosa as MVP He should edge McGwire for taking Cubs further

In a perfect world, Mark McGwire and Sammy Sosa would be named
co-winners of the National League Most Valuable Player Award today.
But, as we are all well aware, the world is anything but perfect,
especially the world of baseball, which is why Sosa will be named the
league's MVP.
A tie in the balloting of baseball writers is highly unlikely.
There has been only one such deadlock in the history of voting in
either league, with Keith Hernandez and Willie Stargell sharing the
NL award in 1979.
